Comment: Britain bans global warming ads

COMMENT: Must have been a slow news day for ABC's Europe correspondent Emma Alberici to report on this story, also covered by the BBC HERE and HERE. Certainly a newsworthy item.

Britain bans exaggerated climate change ads
"Britain's advertising standards authority has banned two government advertisements for overstating the risks of climate change. The authority ruled the ads went beyond mainstream scientific consensus in asserting global warming would cause floods and droughts across the UK."

Ms Alberici's report closes with this sentence:
"Mr Miliband (British energy and climate change secretary) stressed that the advertising standards authority had vindicated the government's position that climate change is man made."

We look forward to seeing the UK's Advertising Standards Authority quoted as an authority on climate change in the next IPCC report!
