The complaint
An audience member wrote to complain about a story which reported that Australia was the second greatest producer of carbon emissions in the world. The complainant asserted that this statement was incorrect and required the qualification that this was per capita.
Findings
The ABC agreed a mistake had been made and the statement should have included the phrase “per capita”.
